Welcome to Sandwich Degree Programme, UMM

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Sandwich Degree Programmes of the University of Mkar, Mkar.

The Sandwich programme is a part-time programme specifically for teachers to study in the Faculty of Education. All the courses in the Faculty of Education are available during the long vacation, from July to September. Lectures run from Monday to Friday.

Guideline for Registration

  1. Application forms are to be obtained from the office of the Coordinator or downloaded online on the sandwich webpage of the University website.
  2. Completed processing forms with JAMB registration numbers must be returned with relevant photocopies of certificates and other credentials.

Entry Requirement and Duration:

The University of Mkar, Mkar offers a 5-Year Sandwich Degree Programme for holders of WASCE/GCE/NECO, NABTEB, Teachers Grade II Certificate, NCE and National Diploma.

Candidates seeking for admission into the 5-year degree programme must possess the following:

  1. Passes in at least two major subjects in NCE with SSC ‘O’ Level credits or equivalents in three other subjects.

  2. At least two passes at IJMB examination at ‘A’ Level with WASC/SSC/GCE ‘O’ Level credits or equivalents in three other subjects. Diploma holders in other fields must obtain 5 ‘O’ level credits in SSC or equivalent at a sitting.

  3. Candidates with Diploma Certificates in Education from recognized institutions with relevant ‘O’ Level papers shall be considered for admission.

  4. A credit in English is required for all courses. A pass in Mathematics is required for all courses except where otherwise specified, e.g. science courses.
